A homebuilt wooden biplane is a giant puzzle. Several thousand parts have to be scratch built from wood planks, 4130 sheet metal, 4130 tubes, aluminium, plywood, cloth and leather.

The estimated construction time, depending on personal experience and skills, is something about 2000 hours.

So what drives somebody to face this task?

In my case it was the longtime wish, to own and fly a unique aircraft design, an aircraft that isn't available ready built in the market. The Flitzer is a time machine, an aircraft design that represents the pure, simple and agile flying machines of the periode between the two great wars. Simply built from wood, steel and cloth, a one seated, open cockpit biplane.
